On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía received Flight 41 of the Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria, bringing back 203 Venezuelan migrants who were originally in the United States and made a stopover in Honduras as part of their journey home. This group included 154 men and 49 women, all returning to Venezuela after facing hardship abroad.

The reception was coordinated by officials from key Venezuelan security and civil institutions, including the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN), the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), and the Bolivarian National Police (CPNB), among others.

Since its reactivation in February 2025, the Plan Vuelta a la Patria has facilitated the return of over 7,000 Venezuelan citizens. The program is a direct response to the persecution and violence many Venezuelans face abroad, particularly under hostile policies from the United States government, which have forced many into precarious situations.

This state-led initiative exemplifies Venezuela’s unwavering commitment to its diaspora, ensuring that compatriots subjected to discrimination, exploitation, or violence can return safely and with dignity.

Upon arrival, repatriates pass through a migration tunnel where officials conduct interviews to assess individual cases. Each migrant receives immediate medical attention from state health institutions before being transported to their homes or shelters.

The government also maintains legal protocols: if any returnee has pending judicial matters, appropriate procedures are initiated in accordance with Venezuelan law.

The Venezuelan government has repeatedly emphasized its dedication to the welfare of its citizens abroad. President Nicolás Maduro and other officials have expressed that every returning Venezuelan is welcomed with open arms, symbolizing the nation’s solidarity and commitment to rebuilding lives disrupted by external aggression and economic blockade.
